Perspective Grids

Perspective grids are a necessity whenever doing any type of layout that requires some sort of angle to your art. This is the majority of art whether you are drawing a cityscape, some ancient ruins, or even people.

Though not all art requires the use of a perspective grid, it’s common to find something you are drawing require the use of it to make sure everything is going at the right angle and vanishing at the proper horizon line. If you don’t incorporate the perspective grid properly, you might have different elements pointing at wrong angles which can cause your art to look wrong, even to someone who doesn’t know how to draw or paint.

I offer a variety of perspective grids free for commercial or personal use. You don’t have to credit me, but I would appreciate it if you would share this page on your social media if you use them or if you know someone who can.

1-Point Perspective Grids

The 1-point perspective grid is great when you for anything that has a single vanishing point on the horizon line. Use this grid for items such as a room that you are painting from a single point or even a corridor or hallway. You can use this for a vast array of single point drawing on a horizon line.

2-Point Perspective Grids

My 2-point perspective grid is my most common downloaded perspective grid. This is a very diverse grid that allows you to create items such as cities with buildings, vehicles, and people all going to two different points on the horizon line. Slide your points on the horizon line to adjust the angles of the objects but make sure they stay on the same horizon line.

3-Point Perspective Grids

The 3-point perspective grid is necessary for drawing any type of image where you have an upward or downward tilt to an object while maintaining the other two points on the horizon line. This is often used for tower building and similar work.

Isometric Perspective Grids

The isometric perspective grid is an amazing grid for working on objects that maintain their scale no matter where they move in perspective. This type of grid is often used in video games board, games, and game apps as well as technical drawings.
